5/31/19 "How To Combat Inner Criticism"

5/31/19
This Month's Topic:
" How To Combat Inner Criticism "

Inner Criticism - an inner voice that expresses frustration and disapproval about our actions....
Over time, these comments (from both others and ourselves) internalize and become our "inner critic,"  the persistent negative self-talk that keeps us stuck.

For though the righteous fall
seven times, they will rise.
Proverbs 24:16 NIV

The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
Proverbs 24:16 NLT

If you're reading this: God has given you the ability to get up. You don't have to stay down, down is not an option.
Because you are righteous...

Now that does not mean that you are right or you get things right all the time.  As the scripture would imply, you have a tendency to fall down at times meaning you fail at things, you fail at life, in general  some times.

Some of you, you physically fall some times. Whether it was due to clumsiness or just something that happens from time to time. You fall, you fail.

Others of you, fall mentally or emotionally some times meaning you find yourself or you get yourself in situations that are not God's choice or God's best for you, but it's an ungodly predicament that has pinned your shoulders to the mat. So, like a high school wrestler, you're wrestling to get your win, pin your opponent (your enemy) to the mat and get back up on top of things.

Beloved, You don't have to be ashamed of how much you have fallen. You can get back up, you don't have to stay down. Don't let guilt pin your shoulders, even though you are guilty.

You don't have to stay down. See yourself up, get yourself up. Stop the count you got going on in your head of how many times...
 1 Corinthians 13:5 NIV says:
Love keeps no record of wrongs.

You must learn to forgive yourself, if you really want to help yourself.

Stop criticizing your every wrong move. You are the only person that expects you to be right or righteous (as in holier than thou) every moment of the day.

As I said earlier, Righteous doesn't mean you're right or that you get things right all the time, but it does mean you have a connection to The One who is right, who is faithful and true to His Word.

And His Word (in this Word, for this month)....God is trying to teach us: How To Combat Inner Criticism.

Meditation Points:

1). You get back up...In spite of how you feel at the moment.

2). You stop the count down  going on in your head- You will not be self-defeated, self-sabotaged. The devil  will not use you in that way.
I decree and declare your release!!!
Who the Son sets free is free indeed.
John 8:36 NIV
In Jesus name,
Amen.

3). REPENT-meaning not just apologize for your behavior, but CHANGING because of it. Ask God to help you turn things around.

4). Learn to Forgive Yourself- You deserve the same second chance you would give someone else; give it to yourself.

5). Stop criticizing, critiquing your every move- You are not God. Therefore, If you can't fairly examine yourself, fairly judge yourself. Then don't judge, because you're doing more mental and emotional harm to  yourself than good.

6). Stop expecting perfection- You are still in a human body and being human carries issues all in itself.
That's why we are asked not to sweat the small stuff  in scripture like what we will eat or drink (don't worry about it).
Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matt 6:34 NIV

7). Take God at His Word- When you fall, whether it's due to clumsiness or a sinful act against your flesh...Take God at His Word. He already knew you would fall, you would fail, you would mess up and still he left you this Word on getting back up. Though, you may be somebody that falls repeatedly back to back to back. Hence, the 7×s analogy given in scripture.

28). PRAY- Jesus told his disciples: "Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation."
Luke 22:46 NIV

Until Next Month.
Walk free of criticism ( inner criticism).
Here when you need me.

5/26/19 "Painful Reconstruction"

5/26/19

5 Minutes of Focus

"Painful Reconstruction"

The pain associated with grief and a famine moved Ruth from Moab to Judah, just in time to meet Boaz. Otherwise, had she been happy....She would have remained complacent in Moab.

Ruth Chapter 2

Never under-estimate the season you're in...God can use your worst pain to bring about your greatest days.  I'm sure, Ruth never thought, when her husband was being laid to rest back in Moab that she would love again in Judah...But God.

SOMEBODY: There is a praise buried in the midst of the pain that will land you right where God wants you to be and reconstruct your life.

The bible says:

Before she goes into labor,

she gives birth;

before the pains come upon her,

she delivers a son.

Who has ever heard of such things?

Who has seen things like this?

Isaiah 66:7-8 NIV

BELOVED, Can't you see the pain was and is necessary? Otherwise, you would be trying to birth something, produce something that's out of order....trying to put the cart before the horse (so to speak).

Instead,  Follow the leading of your broken heart. Remembering in your brokenness that's when God is near;

He is near to the brokenhearted.

Psalm 34:18

So, you will do more than just survive this, you will live through this and like Ruth, you will live because of this.

Ruth lived and got the opportunity to love, and know her BOAZ because of the pain and where it had led her to.

She was standing, still standing after everything she had been through, standing in Boaz's field because the pain in her life had created a need.

SOMEBODY: You're going to meet the answer to your dreams and he or she will meet your needs. It will be a painful reconstruction, but one that's well-worth it. Hallelujah! 🙌

Until Next Sunday.

5/19/19 "Testing 123, Testing!"

5/19/19

5 Minutes of Focus

"Testing 123, Testing!"

5-6 For the second test the Devil took him to the Holy City. He sat him on top of The Temple and said, "Since you are God's Son, jump."

Matthew 4:5-6 MSG

The Devil took Jesus to the Holy City....

Beloved, As a test, the devil (if you let him gain control) will take you to a place that seems right, seems innocent enough, seems "holy" enough as a way of testing you.

Just as he said to Jesus, "Since you are God's Son"....Since you are, who you say you are in God, the devil of course, will try you, he will test you.

Now, don't get it twisted, the devil has never been known for his faith. He used to be known as an angel in heaven, before he got "the big head" and was kicked out, but he was never known for his faith.

Ezekiel 28

Therefore, he  will not have faith in you and  take you at your word. No, you will have to show that devil a thing or two about who he's messing with.

So, don't be surprised when  he shows up to test everything about you. It's in that moment, that you must know, what you know and not be intimidated by the things the devil is saying in your head.

It's only a test. The Devil will wait until you're at your highest point, he will wait until you're on top, or  he will deliberately sat you on top, just like he did Jesus... Just to see what you will do if you should fall, if you should fail, what you will do if you hit rock bottom with nothing to show for it, other than what God said.

It's Only A Test....Adjust yourself, and your thinking accordingly and pass the test.

Until Next Sunday.

5/12/19 "A Mother Til The End "

5/12/19

5 Minutes Of Focus

"A Mother Til The End"

Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.

John 19:25 NIV

Mary, the mother of Jesus was at the foot of the cross. She was right there with Jesus. She was as close to The Cross as she could get without physically being on the cross herself...She was there, just in case he needed her.

To some that might sound crazy, but Mary wasn't thinking in terms of Jesus being the Messiah or even of him being the Son Of God (capable  of fighting his own battles). No, In that moment, he was just her child and if he even "hinted" that he needed her, she was determined to be right there.

You see, often times, we forget that Jesus was not just God's beloved son, but Mary's as well. He was Mary's 1st heartbeat.

So, she was there.... Feeling the pain of The Cross as her son, the son she carried inside of her would die right before her eyes.

And Mary had no way of knowing it  back then....But she was literally standing in the gab, holding on for every mother that would lose a child to violence or otherwise, because  what they did to Jesus on The Cross was violent.

Matt 27

Mary was literally standing in the gab, holding on for every mother that would lose a child to a physical miscarriage or a miscarriage of justice, because justice did indeed suffer a miscarriage that day on The Cross when Jesus was crucified instead of Barabbas or better yet, one of us.

Justice miscarried,  and he was led off and did anyone really know what was happening? He died without a thought for his own welfare...

Isaiah 53:7-9 MSG

Still, his grieving mother, Mary stood in the gab, holding on  (unbeknownst to her) for every woman that would go through a similar pain.

She stood in the gab, she held on just to let you know: You Are A Mother Til'The End.

Beloved, No one can take that away from you. You were and are a mother til the end and you have every right to celebrate.

💜 HaPpY MoThEr'S DaY!

Until Next Sunday.

5/5/19 "You Are Still Somebody's Child"

5/5/19

5 Minutes of Focus

"You Are Still Somebody's Child"

1 One day the LORD told Jonah, the son of Amittai,

2 to go to the great city of Nineveh and say to the people, "The LORD has seen your terrible sins. You are doomed!"

3 Instead, Jonah ran from the LORD. He went to the seaport of Joppa and found a ship that was going to Spain.

Jonah 1:1-3 CEV

Jonah was running from the Lord, he was being hard-headed, he was being disobedient...But still, he was the son of Amittai.

A Word 4 Somebody: You are still somebody's child. There's still a place where you belong.

Right now, you're running like Jonah and it's useless.

BELOVED, You can't outrun your issues and you certainly can't outrun God.

Whether your parents are alive or deceased, whether you were sleeping on someone's couch or in your own tiny apartment before deciding to run away, to escape...You are still somebody's child.

There's still a place where you belong. I know, the devil is trying to tell you otherwise, but the devil is  a liar. No need to feel like little "Orphan Annie" or the store away in someone else's luggage.

You are God's child and he's not mad at you for being disobedient, but he does wish you would stop being so hard-headed though and repent (turn away  from) what you're trying your best to run from.

Nobody's judging you, other than you. You are your own worst enemy.  God would love for you to try again.

God says, There is a place near Me where you may stand on a rock. Exodus 33:21 NIV

Stop running and stand. God will help you fight your inner demons.

Because you are still his child, every bit as much as Jonah was still the son of Amittai despite all his issues.

Until Next Sunday.

4/30/19 "Dealing Successfully With Mockery"

4/30/19

• This Month's MENTORSHIP CORNER Topic:
"Dealing Successfully With Mockery"

I must admit I was highly offended when I first saw this photo of slayed rapper, Nipsey Hussle portrayed with a crown of thorns around his head...

I am sensitive when it comes to Jesus, my Lord and Savior. So, to see a photo of Nipsey in his image, didn't set well with me at all.

UNTIL I got a revelation...There's a saying that reminds us all that:
"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."
Form of flattery is a proverb which means that one imitates someone else because one admires that person or values what that person is doing.
So, It's a flattery though often unintended.

So, rather than get offended like I did...The next time someone mocks Jesus, the next time someone mocks you..DISARM THE ENEMY by treating his attempt at mockery as though, it was pure flattery; even though you know it was unintended.

Getting offended, getting angry is only wasted energy when you know that the WORD clearly says: God is not mocked. He  cannot be mocked, which means you as his child, his offspring cannot be mocked. Eventually, the person (your enemies, your haters) will reap what they have sown, nothing more, nothing less.

And that...BELOVED is how you successfully deal with mockery.

Meditation Points:

1 Stand on the truth of the WORD.

2 Disarm the power of the enemy by receiving mockery (imitation) as flattery.

3 Turn the tables on the enemy by not getting offended.

4 Remind yourself: God cannot be mocked. He won't allow it (and if he does allow it for a season, he has good reason for doing so).

5 Overall, God is not mocked.  He cannot be mocked and neither can you or I as his child.

6 Meditate on this: Do not be deceived, God is not mocked (He will not allow Himself to be ridiculed, nor treated with contempt nor allow His precepts to be scornfully set aside);
for whatever a man sows, this and only this is what he will reap.
Gal 6:7 AMP

Father God,
Help us to get passed this photo and hold on to the revelation on mockery found in the truth of your WORD...Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, after all.
Plus, we know what the end of it will be.
In Jesus name.
Amen

I hope that helped SOMEBODY who is saved and sensitive about JESUS (like me).
Beloved, We got this. Let them draw, paint, say, write whatever.

Until Next Month.
Here when you need me.

4/28/19 "Fearless Woman"

4/28/19

5 Minutes of Focus

"Fearless Woman"

After Jesus got up from the grave...Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were the 1st on the scene. They came to check out the tomb, looking for Jesus.

Now, what I find very interesting is NOT how an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, and rolled the stone away....That's kinda what I expected.

But rather, how the angel of the Lord just left those who had been guarding the tomb visibly shaken, afraid and never said a word to them, but just let them shake in fear.

But the minute, the women (Mary Magdalene and the other Mary) showed up, the angel said: Do not be afraid, for I know you are looking for Jesus...

Matt 28:1-7 NIV

Why not comfort the guards by saying: Do not be afraid?

Why only comfort the women by telling them:  Do not be afraid?

Women, I decree and declare that God does not want us to be fearful....He wants us to be fearless women, first on the scene to support the things and people we believe in.

God wants us to be unafraid to check out things, to examine  the things we don't understand.

He want us to be unafraid of going where we need to go, doing what we need to do without a male being present all the time.

Women, God wants us to take the lead and carry the good news of the gospel and not be afraid to tell it to men, husband-men, boyfriends, our brothers, our sons

 etc.

Oh yes, God made you to be fearless... Hence, the mandate given to Mary Magdalene and other Mary to:  "Go quickly tell his (male) disciples...He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee."

Matt 28:7 NIV

"Go quickly"...Therefore, as a fearless woman, as the fearless women he has called...We don't have time to waste being afraid, living in fear of the unknown.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid...

We have too much to do, fear can't be apart of it.

2 Timothy 1:7   NIV & NKJ
