2/8/26 "And NOTHING MORE!!"

2/8/26

#5MinutesofFocus

"And NOTHING MORE"
Jesus was assigned to the woman at the well. He was there to help her get healed from her past relationships and be filled with the life-changing water of salvation and  NOTHING MORE.
John 4:1-29 NIV

Beloved, It's a dangerous thing to want something or someone for YOURSELF that God does not want for you.

But this is exactly what happens when we forget the assignment God gave us concerning that person and we get close with them in a way that we shouldn't.

And you wonder why things are not working out the way you had hoped.
It's because where you saw a possible relationship, God saw ministry, where you saw friendship, God saw mentorship.

In John 4: Jesus told the woman at the well to, “Go, call your husband and come back.” “I have no husband,” she replied. Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband.
John 4:16‭-‬17 NIV

But what if, Jesus next words to this precious woman who was in need of salvation would have been, "I have no wife in which to speak of either? "

See how easy it is to derail the plan of God and cause things to go in a total different direction all because we allowed flesh to get involved, all because feelings got involved?

Jesus would have cost this precious woman her salvation, her chance to be free of EVERYTHING she had been carrying had he allowed himself to feel more for her that just His assignment.

That's why it's so important that we choose to die daily, that by choice we crucify our flesh.
Gal 5:16-17, 24
1 Corin 15:31 NKJ

So that we can effectively minister to "that person" and have no problem keeping it about the assignment, keeping it about God and what HE SAID, and nothing more.

Galatians 5:7 CEV says,
[7] You were doing so well until someone made you turn from the truth.

Sure hope it wasn't me...Because the one thing we should NEVER want to do (as servants of Christ) is be responsible for someone stumbling, falling, missing out on what God has for them, all because of us and our fleshly desires.

Until Next Sunday.

2/1/26 "He's Preparing You!!'

2/1/26

#5MinutesofFocus

"He's Preparing You "
[1] When he had finished praying, Jesus left with his disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley. On the other side there was a garden, and he and his disciples went into it.
John 18:1 NIV

Jesus had just finished praying, but despite all His praying...He STILL ended up getting arrested by verse 12.

👉How could Jesus' prayers not work?

👉Jesus had a prayer life.

👉Jesus prayed to His Heavenly Father and it still didn't prevent Him from being arrested.

Many of you are puzzled and have similar questions about your own prayer life. Why didn't praying work?

Beloved,
God never promised you that prayer would prevent or stop EVERYTHING.
But have you ever considered...That just maybe, Instead of preventing or stopping the situation...

👉Prayer is what prepared you for the situation?

👉Prayer prepared Jesus for His arrest.
Of course, He knew he would be arrested, but still he needed to prepare mentally, prepare emotionally for the actual taking away of His freedom etc.

👉You see, It's one thing to know it and something totally different to actually go through it.

👉Therefore, You need to be prepared for what's next.

👉You need to be prepared or you won't be able to go through it, you won't be able to handle it.

Jesus needed to be in The Garden of Gethsemane, praying harder than he had in days prior.

It was the praying, crying, the breaking of His Will in The Garden of Gethsemane that prepared Jesus for His arrest, and being arrested prepared Him for The Cross.
Luke 22:39-54 NKJ

👉So, Instead of being mad that your prayers didn't prevent or stop that thing from happening...
👉In time, you will discover  what your prayer life was preparing you for all along and I hope you will look back on it and  BE GRATEFUL for the time God gave you in prayer to prepare.

SOMEBODY: He's preparing you.
“You don’t understand now what He's doing, but it will be clear enough to you later.”
John 13:7 MSG

Remember, He causes all things to work together for the good...(Rom 8:28 NLT) Even the hard things, the things you never thought would happen to you etc.

Until Next Sunday.

"His People"
18 Now the Lord will get furious and do to his enemies, both near and far, what they did to his people.

19 He will attack like a flood in a mighty windstorm. Nations in the west and the east will then honor and praise his wonderful name.
Isaiah 59:18‭-‬19 CEV

I love that this translation says...
The Lord will get furious and do to his enemies, both near and far, what they did to his people. He will attack like a flood in a mighty windstorm.

Hear Me: The Lord is going to pay back his enemies , both near and far, for what they did to HIS PEOPLE.

SOMEBODY: You need to know the Lord is fighting for you. He has NOT stopped fighting for you.

If you are really HIS PEOPLE -which means you're living holy, you're sold out for the Lord, no matter what...He will be like a flood against the enemy. That's how forceful his attack will be on your behalf. The battle is not yours, but HIS; they are his enemies.
2 Chronicles 20:15 KJV

Beloved...Right now, you really do have the wrong focus. Stop feeding into what the enemy is doing, because every time you do...You're unknowingly giving him the praise that belongs to the LORD. Instead, focus on your relationship with the LORD MAKE SURE that you are indeed "HIS PEOPLE", because the LORD fights for his people.

The Lord will fight for you, and you won't have to do a thing.”
Exodus 14:14 CEV

1/18/26 "Check Your Bucket List "

1/18/26

#5MinutesOfFocus

"Check Your Bucket List"
[8] “With me in charge,” Joseph told Potiphar's wife, “my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care. [9] No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?”
Genesis 39:8-9 NIV

SOMEBODY:
If you go back and look, God has enabled you to accomplish a lot of the things on your buck list. He's placed you in some powerful positions, given you some amazing opportunities.

There is just one thing He has withheld from you and I need you NOT to pursue it, do NOT pursue them.

In the words of Joseph, "How then could you do such a wicked thing and sin against God?"

NOTICE that if you go after that the one God is keeping from you... It will be considered wicked and you will be sinning against God.

Instead,
I need you to trust that what's being withheld from you is NOT something you need or someone you need.

Just be thankful for the many accomplishments you have achieved. The fact that your buck list is almost complete speaks volumes. GOD HAS DONE big things for you. DON'T MESS IT UP by pursuing the one thing you can't have.

Remember the bible says, The Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.

TRUST HIM.
The one thing He is withholding is not good or as good as you believe it to be, or it would have been given to you already (Psalms 37:4) as part of your heart's desire....
BUT IT WASN'T!!

Think about it & let it go!!

1/11/26 "Leave Me Alone"

1/11/26

#5MinutesOfFocus

"Leave Me Alone"
[35] And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
Mark 1:35 KJV

The word “solitary” means:
🌿 A place completely alone, uninhabited, and free from interruption
The Greek word behind “solitary” is erÄ“mos, which means:
- deserted place
- wilderness
- a quiet, empty, unfrequented spot
- a place away from people and distractions

Jesus chose this kind of place so He could pray without noise, crowds, or demands pulling on Him.

🌄 When the KJV says Jesus went to a “solitary place,” it means:
- He intentionally withdrew
- He sought a place where no one else was
- He created space for uninterrupted communion with the Father
- It was quiet, still, and empty—physically and spiritually.

💡Jesus had just come out of a long day of healing and deliverance, and solitude allowed Him to:
- Refocus
- Recharge spiritually
- Realign with the Father’s will
- Pray without distraction.

So, Beloved,
If anyone understands what you're going through right now; struggling to find time alone, and your mind being pulled literally in multiple directions...It's Jesus when He walked this earth.

Just like you, Jesus had a tremendous amount of weight on His shoulders...
[5] But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him....
JESUS HAD A LOT on him too.
Isaiah 53:5 NIV

It's not easy feeling the burden of others, or feeling responsible for others and still maintaining your own peace, your own clarity, your own strength, but it is doable.

Therefore,
[6] Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing, but be saturated in prayer throughout each day.
Philippians 4:6 TPT

Find the time, make the time. Get alone with God by any means necessary.

Until Next Sunday.

1/4/26 "Stay Humble!!"

1/4/26

#5MinutesOfFocus

"Stay Humble"
[5] In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: [6] Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage...
Philippians 2:5-6 NIV

1st of all "God" is a title the same way that doctor, pastor, prophet, prophetess etc. are all titles and
even though, He was qualified to carry the title, qualified to be called "God"....Jesus chose not to use it to His advantage.

Beloved, Never use the title God has given you to your own advantage.

In other words, Don't let it go to your head and become the only reason why you do what you do.

God didn't give you that title to use it as leverage over people or for you to act as though you’re superior to anyone.

But you and I are to have the mind of Christ at all times. Christ came to serve, to be of service to those who needed Him.

6xs in The New Testament Jesus went in, did what was needed and asked that they not tell anyone, but keep what He did a secret.
Jesus was humble, not trying to blow His own name up, or call attention to Himself pre-maturely.

🤔 Think About It!!
Why are you doing what you do?

12/28/25 "Limited Access "

12/28/25

#5MinutesOfFocus

"Limited Access"
[18] Now Bethany was less than two miles from Jerusalem, [19] and many Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them in the loss of their brother.
John 11:18-19 NIV

Be mindful of those who come around you when you are dealing with a major loss, be mindful of those who come around you when you are down.

Some will honestly be there to comfort you, to encourage you, to check on you like The Jews did when they came to visit Martha & Mary.

Still I must warn you, because there are those who will only come visit to see, to hear, and report back EVERYTHING that you have left undone from your physical appearance, to the appearance of your house. They are there looking for something to gossip about, they are not there because they are concerned about you.

I pray God give you spiritual discernment even in the midst of your grief, even in the midst of what you're going through to see those who are really there for you and those who are not.

In Micah 7:8 NIV
The prophet Micah said something powerful. He said, The LORD would be his light when he's fallen and the LORD will not let his enemies (plural) gloat over him during his darkest season.

As He was with Micah, I just feel led to say to somebody reading this, THE LORD IS WITH YOU NOW.

Loss is hard and grief is a real emotion, but the darkness will not overtake you nor will your enemies be able to gloat. SOME THINGS are just meant to be private, meant to be dealt with in private. So, It's okay to limit some people's access to you at this time.

Until Next Sunday.
