3/1/20 "That Quick Fix "

"That Quick Fix"

One day Peter & John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer.
A man lame from birth was put there every day to beg from those going into the temple. When he saw Peter & John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!”  “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.
Acts 3:1-7 NIV

Beloved, Be mindful of those who would rather just provide you with a quick fix and send you on your way...They would rather throw material stuff at you than deal with you and your issues.

The crippled man in Acts 3 is the perfect example of this...Nobody took the time to offer him what he needed. They just threw money at his issues like a few coins here and there was really going to solve his issues. They threw money at him and kept going. So, by now, he knew not to ask for anything other than money.

He just excepted what he couldn't do, what they said he would never be able to do. He never expected to have someone like Peter come along and take him by the hand.

SOMEBODY: You know what it's like to have your needs pushed to the side, to have the issues that burden your heart pushed to the side. Instead, you're offered money, material stuff, anything that would  be considered a quick fix and would get you out of that person's face.

Deep down you wish you had someone who would stop and give you a helping hand (for real), who would see that you are more than what was said, more than the diagnosis or evaluation that was given, someone who would take you by the hand until you are able  to stand and do the very thing, life tried to convince you, you will never be able to do (whatever that thing might be).

You need a Peter...
Not these so- called Christians out here; praying, but not doing much else. Peter & John on their way to prayer, still stopped and did the WORK Of Christ.
Because faith that doesn't lead us to do good deeds is dead...And so is prayer without corresponding action.
James 2:17 CEV

"I'm Not Feeling It"

"I'm Not Feeling It"...You say. BELOVED, Stop being so quick to give up just because you don't feel anything. Happiness is a feeling, sadness is a feeling, but faith, faith is not a feeling.

2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV says: We live by faith and not by sight....Which implies that faith is not a feeling, faith is not associated with any type of feeling, but faith is a lifestyle.

God expects you to live faith even when you don't feel it...Because again, faith is not a feeling.

That's for those of you trying to stay in faith, but you don't feel anything and you don't see any thing happening that would suggest that your faith is working.

Do you think Hannah in 1 Samuel Chapter 1 always felt something?...No she didn't. Peninnah was still provoking her, still irritating her and she was still barren, she was still without a child of her own. And the bible says, this went on year after year which means for years, Hannah continued to pray without seeing any results, without always feeling faith, but still she remained faithful to her prayer life.
1 Samuel 1:1-20 NIV

I came to encourage & pray for somebody today: Stay faithful to your prayer life, stay faithful to what you know to do, whether you feel it or not because faith is not a feeling. It's a lifestyle.

Therefore, Some times you will have to travail in faith, travail in prayer...But don't quit  just because you don't see or feel anything.

Father God,
I pray over everyone whose not seeing the results they desire and so they're about to give up on faith, on praying because they don't see anything.

Help them to stop depending on sight to build their faith, or a feeling to determine, if faith for them is actually working.

But help them to live a life of faith before you regardless and to remain faithful to what they know to do.

Because in the end...If they travail, just like you did for Hannah...You will cause all things (the good, the bad, the ugly, and barrenness they've been through)  to work together for the good. Romans 8:28
In Jesus name,
Amen

"It's Okay To Wait"

It's okay to let everybody else get out the boat....It's okay to let everybody else get out there and try whatever new thing there is to try.

You don't have to be in a rush, especially since you don't feel like God is releasing you to move, step out in any certain direction right now.

Beloved, It's okay to be still (for a season) and wait patiently on the LORD. (Psalm 37:7 NLT)  You don't have anything to prove not to your family, not to your friends and certainly not to your foes. This is just something you have to do for you unapologetically. You're not being lazy or rude. What you're being is wise. There's wisdom in waiting, when you don't know what else to do.

Therefore, The other disciples were not fazed by Peter rushing to get out the boat....He saw Jesus walk on the water and now ALL OF A SUDDEN, he wanted to try it. So, he asked and Jesus released him to Come.
Matthew 14:22-29 AMP

You see, The other disciples who remained on the boat understood that being out on the water was Peter's livelihood, it's what excited him. BEFORE becoming a disciple, Peter and his brother, Andrew (as well as a few of the other disciples), they were  all fishermen. See Matthew 4:18-22 NKJ. So being out on the water was apart of Peter's original career choice.
Luke 5:1-11 AMP

Again, NOTICE: Being out on the water was Peter's livelihood. It's what excited HIM, the other disciples not so much or at least, they didn't seem to keep going back to it, like Peter did.  Beloved, If this new thing, you see some people around you rushing to try is not something that excites you, motivates you, could be considered your livelihood....You better do like the  other disciples and don't let it faze you. They remained on the boat because on the boat was the last place they KNEW God told them to be.

Wherever you KNOW God last told you to be, remain there, stay put, awaiting further instructions.  It's okay to wait this one out. Wait on the LORD.

Until Next Sunday.

2/14/20 "All My Love This Valentine's Day"

2/14/20

All My Love This Valentine's Day!!!

One of His disciples, whom Jesus loved [whom He esteemed and delighted in], was reclining [next to Him] on Jesus' bosom. So Simon Peter motioned to him to ask of whom He was speaking. Then leaning back against Jesus' breast, he asked Him, Lord, who is it?
John 13:23‭-‬25 AMPC

Don't allow people to use the intimacy you have with the LORD, just for finding out what they want to know.
This is exactly what happened here in the text,  Simon Peter (of all people) tried to use John's intimate relationship with the LORD to find out who indeed would be the disciple to betray Jesus.

Sometimes, you have to limit people's access to you...So that you can focus on NOT just being a servant of God, serving God, but being a lover of God, loving on Him reclining, relaxing, resting in His Presence.

One of my favorite scriptures talks about glorying in the fact  that I know God personally.
But let him who glories glory in this: that he understands and knows Me [personally and practically, directly discerning and recognizing My character], that I am the Lord, Who practices loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth, for in these things I delight, says the Lord.
Jeremiah 9:24 AMPC

In a world where people love to name drop unashamedly making people aware of who they know. Let me take the time to drop the ONE name that's above all names. JESUS....I know JESUS....I know God.

And I wouldn't trade being His for nothing in this world. Being able to lean on Him just because he's there is a privilege, being able to lean on Him as my lover when I am struggling to survive the wilderness, or the wildest, craziness of a situation is a privilege.
Who is this coming up from the wilderness leaning on her beloved?
Song of Songs 8:5 NIV

I'm privileged to say...It is me once again and FOREVER leaning on the lover of my soul, my beloved.

You see, Valentine's Day is not just for couples, but for you and  your Creator because if it hadn't been for Him loving you when you were unable to help yourself, unable to love yourself. Where would you be right now? Where would I be?

Thankful today for a hope that does not disappoint and for God's love poured out on me, filling the broken pieces of my heart.
How about you?

And this hope will never disappoint us, because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts. He gave us his love through the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to us. When we were unable to help ourselves, at the right time, Christ died for us, although we were living against God.
Romans 5:5‭-‬6 NCV

Happy Valentine's Day God,
Happy Valentine's Day  Jesus....
Holy Spirit, yes you too. 📩 ❣

"There's A Dream Inside Of You"

Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more.
Genesis 37:5 NIV

God had been showing Joseph dreams (plural, meaning more than one) and though it made his brothers hate him even more...Still, God had been showing him dreams, preparing him mentally for what  was to come. Remember,  God knows the end from the beginning. (Isaiah 46:10) So, that by the time, Joseph found himself in that pit, it was that dream inside of him that wouldn't let him quit.

SOMEBODY: You've been wondering how it is that you've managed to keep going even though, you feel like quitting, you wanna quit....It's that dream that God placed in you. It won't let you quit.

In your hardest times, when you're really being tried and tested...Because remember the scripture says:
Until the time came to fulfill his dreams, the Lord tested Joseph’s character.
Psalms 105:19 NLT

In those times, here comes that dream, causing you to remember what God has shown you. In those times, here comes that dream building your hope up again for it's only a test of your character.  The pit, the prison, and the palace are all levels, stages Joseph had to go through and you have to go through too to get what you're dreaming about. So, you're in the pit now, hold on and press your way to the prison then the palace.

I know many of you probably feel like the Woman of Shunem in 2 Kings 4 NLT when she said to Elisha:
“O man of God, don’t deceive me and get my hopes up like that.”
2 Kings 4:16 NLT

Well, that's exactly what I'm doing getting your hopes up because that dream inside you won't let you quit, because it's yours. It's yours to obtain.

So, be encouraged as you move from level to level...You are getting closer.

Until Next Sunday.

2/2/20 "A Forced Goodbye "

2/2/20

"A Forced Goodbye "

At this they wept aloud again. Then Orpah kissed her mother-in-law goodbye, but Ruth clung to her.
Ruth 1:14 NIV

Up until this point, no one saw it coming...Orpah showed no signs that she wouldn't be going to Bethlehem as planned with Naomi and Ruth. But it was that last appeal, Naomi made that forced Orpah to say one last tearful goodbye.

Last Sunday, The world as a whole was forced to say a tear- filled goodbye to a legendary sports figure. No one saw it coming.... As a matter of fact, heads are still spinning, trying to make sense of this one; this one hit hard.

BELOVED, What do you do when life hits you HARD, strikes without warning and leaves you with NOTHING?

I'll tell you what you do: You reach for the one somebody who from the beginning in Genesis 1 took NOTHING and made it work for Him. He took NOTHING by faith and comprised the whole earth, though it was empty and void when he first saw it.

You reach for the one somebody who  has known BOTH life and death, and came out victorious, still possessing a sound mind and power... That same sound mind and power you have inside of you, when you're a believer.

You reach out to the one somebody who was acquainted (personally) with grief, but managed to deal with it and still function and do the things he needed to do.

Reach for JESUS because he knows how you feel. He himself was forced  to let go of HIS MOTHER on The Cross and he suffered the loss of  his cousin, John The Baptist while serving in ministry....He was beheaded. Jesus felt the loss, but was never given the proper time to grieve. Instead, he was forced to keep going for the other people who needed Him.

Just like you're being forced now to say goodbye, forced to ENDURE the pain, the hurt, and you can't even grieve like you want to, because of the other people who need you. You're trying to be STRONG for them. BELOVED, Jesus knows. Jesus understands. He is interceding for you. Open up your heart and let Him in. LIFE comes with a cost, but salvation is frree.
