1/30/22 "Prepping Season "

1/30/22

5 Minutes of Focus

"Prepping Season"

1 When he had finished praying, Jesus left with his disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley. On the other side there was a garden, and he and his disciples went into it.

📖 Read for yourself what happened in between verse 1 & verse 12, but the end result is that Jesus got arrested.

12 Then the detachment of soldiers with its commander and the Jewish officials arrested Jesus....
John 18:1,12 NIV

As you can see, John 18:1 opens with Jesus finishing up in prayer, but despite all His praying...He STILL ended up getting arrested by verse 12.

Did all that praying fail Him?

How could Jesus' prayers not work, not prevent Him from being arrested?

Many of you are puzzled and have similar questions about your own prayer life. Why didn't praying work?

Beloved,
God never promised you that prayer would prevent or stop EVERYTHING.
But have you ever considered...

That just maybe, prayer instead of preventing a situation or stopping a situation...Prayer is preparing you for the situation?

Prayer prepared Jesus for His arrest....Of course, He knew he would be arrested, but still he needed to prepare mentally, prepare emotionally for the actual taking away of His freedom etc.

You see, It's one thing to know it and something totally different to actually go through it.

Therefore, You need to be prepared for what's next.

You need to be prepared or you won't be able to go through it, you won't be able to handle it.

Jesus needed to be in The Garden of Gethsemane praying harder than he had in days prior.

It was the praying, crying, the breaking of His Will that happened in The Garden of Gethsemane that prepared him for His arrest, that prepared him for The Cross.
Luke 22:39-54 NKJ

So, Instead of being mad that your prayers didn't prevent or stop that thing from happening....Seek to discover in time, what your prayer life is preparing you for and BE GRATEFUL for your prepping season.

God is preparing you for what's next. You will be able to get through it. You will be able to handle the arrest, the sickness, the kids acting crazy, sibling rivalry, marriage issues etc.

Keep praying...Your strength is in prayer, in communicating daily with The Father.

Selah- Pause & Think About That!

Until Next Sunday.
