4/25/21 "The Truth Hurts"

4/25/21

5 Minutes of Focus

"The Truth Hurts"

Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: “Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.
Matthew 26:75 NIV

It's one thing to hurt over a lie that was told on you....

But when you're hurting over THE TRUTH that was spoken to you, that's something totally different.

In the text, Peter got reminded of THE TRUTH, Jesus had spoken to him and it hurt.

The truth hurts, because the truth forces you to face reality.

And some of ya'll are so afraid of  facing reality, afraid of what you will discover within yourself, if you let yourself honestly see you.

Peter discovered that he wasn't as BOLD in his faith as he thought he was.

Peter discovered that he could easily be pressured into disowning Jesus, pressured into turning his back on Jesus and it hurt.

Beloved, What truth are you yet to face?
If I had to guess, I would say, you're not as strong as you think you are or you pretend to be.

You have a weakness, a thorn in your flesh that you're constantly fighting. (2 Corin 12:6-9) Because, if you don't....

You will discover how easy it is for you to lie, for you to cuss, for you to go back on Your Word and completely deny your faith in Jesus etc....

All the things Peter did. (See Matt 26) that makes him so relatable to those of us, who know we are not perfect, but in need of God's  New Mercies EVERYDAY.
Lam 3:22-23 KJV

You see, Beloved, Peter's reaction to being told THE TRUTH about him disowning Jesus should be a reminder to us all of just what it would be like, if God EVER decided to UNCOVER US and just let us fall, if he ever decided to stop being our support system in this crazy world in which we live.

Think About It and be grateful for the time He has given you to see yourself, correct yourself, better yourself.  To God be the glory!!! Amen 🙏

Until Next Sunday.

4/18/21 "Love & Loyalty"

4/18/21

5 Minutes of Focus

"Love & Loyalty"

When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”  Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.”
John 21:15‭-‬17 NIV

Jesus wasn't  satisfied with just hearing Simon Peter  say, "I  love you" because words can be misleading- Leading you to believe something that's not always true. Instead, He NEEDED Peter to prove his love for him, prove his loyalty to him by taking care of his sheep.

You see, What we often forget is that Jesus (as a man) had to deal with the PROS & CONS of being in a relationship with those closest to him too.

And after, Simon Peter, one of those closest to him had publicly denied him, denied even knowing him (See Matt 26:69-75)... Jesus had every right to test him before reinstating him, which He did.

You see, Beloved, you can't just allow that person that hurt you back into your life as though nothing happened. FORGIVE THEM, so that you can be forgiven. Matt 6:14 NIV

BUT THEN,  if you decide (it's always your decision) to allow them back close to you....

Don't be afraid to test them, before you reinstate them. Learn from the way Jesus handled being denied, being hurt by someone he had a relationship with.

Jesus didn't just let Peter say a few "I love you's " and then pretend like everything was the same as before, because it wasn't.  Peter had to be reinstated meaning restored back to his position.

Quick question: Did you just allow that person to come back or did God actually restore them back? 🤦

Until Next Sunday.

4/11/21 "Intercessor"

4/11/21

5 Minutes of Focus

"Intercessor"

One of the servants said to Abigail (wife of Nabal): Now think it over and see what you can do, because disaster is hanging over our master and his whole household. He is such a wicked man that no one can talk to him.”
1 Samuel 25:17 NIV

BELOVED, Are you married to someone who it seems no one can talk to, not even YOU?

Perhaps, you have a family  member or you work alongside someone who is just wicked and impossible to talk to?

AND instead of doing what's right, they're always doing something wrong that will cause trouble; and you find yourself  intervening, trying to stop what they've set in motion.

In Abigail's case, Nabal (her husband) was just that one.
So, In order to save her household, as well as all of their lives...

Abigail had some thinking to do and when she had made up her mind about what to do. She took action, but the bible says: She didn't tell her husband.
1 Samuel 25:19 NIV

That's the life of a true intercessor whether you're the spouse, a relative or otherwise. You keep quiet about a lot, because you know it's going to take more than talk to move the hand of God this time.

Remember, The bible says: Faith without works is dead which means YOU have your work cut out for you as an Intercessor.
James 2:26

Abigail went to David with a peace offering, interceding on behalf of her FOOLISH husband who had wronged David & his men and David accepted her offering. Read 1 Samuel 25.

And so, I just felt led to tell some intercessor today, just like David accepted Abigail's offering and said to her, “Go home in peace. I have heard your words and granted your request.”
1 Samuel 25:35 NIV

God has accepted every offering, every seed you have sown and the peace you desire to see in your home, in your marriage, in your family, or your job has been granted.

Wait for the manifestation of what you can't see yet, because it has been granted to you. Stand in faith & believe. Intercessor, keep praying...Better days are ahead of you.

Amen!!
Until Next Sunday.

4/4/21 "When It Seems To Prosper"

4/4/21

5 Minutes of Focus

"When It  Seems To Prosper"

16 Behold, I have created the smith who blows on the fire of coals and who produces a weapon for its purpose; and I have created the devastator to destroy.

17 But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper....
Isaiah 54:16‭-‬17 AMPC

God says, I  created the one who makes the weapon and I created the one who destroys, but when it comes to you...No weapon formed against you shall prosper.

That's how much God loves you...
He doesn't want anything or anyone He created to bring you harm.

That's why Jesus went to The Cross EVEN, to spare you the pain of what you were guilty of, while yet in your sin.

The bible says it like this:
When we were unable to help ourselves, at the right time, Christ died for us, although we were living against God.
Romans 5:6 NCV

When we were unable to help ourselves meaning WE COULDN'T HANDLE IT...That's when Christ died for us, when we couldn't handle it.

Why?

So that NO WEAPON formed in your past life of sin, your present life, or the future would prosper, or resurface to prosper.

But sadly though, sometimes it feels like the weapon formed is prospering....And it's all because of our choices; choosing to take offense at what somebody said or did...In doing so, we are actually helping the weapon formed to prosper against us.

You see, Beloved, Offense can be taken or NOT taken.

The bible says, Jesus took on the posture of a lamb, of a sheep and said NOTHING, but He let things play out the way they were supposed to.
Isaiah 53:7 NIV

And NOW, Believers all over the world know that Jesus was innocent of any and all accusations made.

Think about it: You actually help the weapon formed against you to  prosper, EVERY TIME you take the bait and get offended.

Every time you speak up, when you should be silent & trust God...He knows the truth. So, who are you really fighting to convince?

HE GOT UP!  🏈 ‼🔥

Happy Resurrection Sunday.
