"It's All A Part Of The Journey"
[20] So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
[21] So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. [22] Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
Genesis 2:20-22 NIV

Now, Keep in mind that Adam was a man, but he was a man that had never seen a woman. So, Seeing Eve for the 1st time there before him was something new, something different, something that he had no knowledge of.

And in that moment, Adam could have looked and said, "No." He could have totally rejected what God was trying to do, but he didn't.

Instead,
Adam said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”
Genesis 2:23 NIV

Do you know the kind of faith it took for Adam to make such a bold statement like that?

And here we are, you and me... If God just shows us a glance of something new, something different, something that we have no knowledge of. If God just shows us a glance of something that requires more faith than we had yesterday.....

We start questioning, if it's even God, we start entertaining doubt, and finding reasons to justify our hesitation.

But NOT Adam, He didn't question God, he didn't waste his big moment entertaining doubt, or justifying any hesitation.

He just accepted that it was brought to him, because it was a part of him, a part of his journey. He just accepted that Eve was a part of him, a part of what God had for him.
And so, He called her, "Woman"- BONE OF HIS BONES, flesh of his flesh. "

Go back and read Genesis 2:23 again. Because in one verse, Adam shows us how to respond in faith (as though our Heavenly Father knows what's best for us) because He does know what's best for us.

I pray we be more like Adam when it comes to accepting the things, accepting the people God brings into our lives... It's all a part of the journey.

Until Next Sunday.
