5/9/21 "Warrior Mom"

"Warrior Mom"

A man from the family of Levi married a Levite woman. The woman became pregnant and had a son. She saw there was something special about him and hid him. She hid him for three months. When she couldn’t hide him any longer she got a little basket-boat made of papyrus, waterproofed it with tar and pitch, and placed the child in it. Then she set it afloat in the reeds at the edge of the Nile.
Exodus 2:1‭-‬3 MSG

👉 Notice: The text doesn't say anything about the father seeing something special in the child.

👉 It was Moses' mother who saw something special in him, saw there was something special about him and did all she could to protect him from Pharaoh (who had ordered that ALL male babies be killed at birth).
Exodus 1:15

You see, It's in a mother's nature to protect her child at any cost.

The mother bear (for example) has always been the quintessential example of a mother's love, and this is mainly because  of their fierce, protective nature.

👉 It is a widely accepted belief that the most dangerous place to be is between a mother bear and her cub.

👉 As the author N.K. Jemisin has said, "There is no greater warrior than a mother protecting her child."

👉 In the text, Moses' mother was in WARRIOR MODE; doing what she had to do to protect her child, even though it would eventually mean her, being separated from him. STILL, she did what she thought was best.

As I'm sure, every mother reading this can testify...You can testify to doing what you thought was best for your child...You can tell of the many sacrifices you've had to make over the years.

Some sacrifices they don't even know about... Because you kept a smile on your face and just endured with grace; praying like Hannah to the point that you had NO AUDIBLE WORDS left.
1 Samuel 1:12-13 ERV

And that's exactly why you deserve to be praised today.... Your children should call you blessed, because you have truly been a blessing to them, IN SPITE OF what it meant for you or what it cost you.
Proverbs 31:27-29 NIV

Happy Mother's Day!!! 💛

Until Next Sunday.
