"Jesus Ate"

While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.

Matthew 9:10‭-‬12 NIV

Jesus ate with sinners because they needed him to be down -to- earth and approachable.They needed him, the tax collectors needed him to be a real person....

That does not mean He treated them like his best friends or that He felt the need to tell them everything in order to fellowship with them.

Some of y'all, don't know how far to go with people. You always end up talking too much to the wrong people, giving them way too much access into your private life.

In order to truly be like Jesus, you must learn how to be in this world, but not of it. (John 17:16, Rom 12:2 NIV).

Jesus was with them, but he was never like them. He didn't sell out who he was, he didn't change up on God, trying to fit in with them.

He ate with them which implies that they got to see him be human, because we all have to eat....

But what was it that made them feel welcomed in Matthew’s home to begin with?

What was it that made them feel comfortable eating with Jesus of all people?

The answer: Love & kindness. The bible says; With lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

Jere 31:3 KJV

It was love & kindness that drew sinners and tax collectors to Jesus...Not him gossiping and trying to fit in and do what they do.

If you want to make a difference for real in people's lives and represent Christ well.

●You must be down-to-earth.

●You must be approachable. ●You must show love & kindness.

●You must let people see you NOT gossiping, NOT trying to fit in. 

●Give them limited access, but make them feel like it's unlimited; like they have all the time in the world.

●In other words, BE PATIENT WITH PEOPLE.

"Toxic Relationships"

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

Genesis 3:6 NIV

Still the bible says, Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.(1 Timothy 2:14 NIV) which means Adam knowingly went against what he knew God had said out of love for his wife, who was now dabbling in sin. 

Toxic!! Adam & Eve's relationship was toxic. Any time you love someone or something more than you love God, and being obedient to His Word. That's toxic.

You see, The fruit that Eve gave Adam to eat represents sin, because it was what God told them NOT to do. It also represents how good & pleasing to the flesh sin can be for a season.

But as the man (as the head of the household) Adam's mouth was supposed to be a place of divine authority.

So, Had He thought to pull Eve away from the serpent and reminded her of the Word of the Lord...Maybe, Things would have been different for her, for him, for the children that would be born to them, and for us; those of us who would be alive after the fall. 

Genesis 3.

Ladies: That's what you should want. A man who does not buckle, but takes authority over his household, over the atmosphere in his household.

A man who KNOWS & reminds  you of the Word of the Lord.

ESPECIALLY on a day like today; on Mother's Day.

He is not supposed to be caught up in sin with you or anyone else, but he should be  (encouraging  you), praising you, the children should be blessing you for change they can see in you. 

Proverbs 31: 28 NKJ

You are becoming a Proverbs 31 woman more & more, day by day.

"Don't Feed Into It"

Now Ahab told Jezebel everything Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say, “May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them.”

1 Kings 19:1‭-‬2 NIV

Ahab told Jezebel everything Elijah had done...

And just like she was told everything that had happened PRIOR to her threatening him...

I'm sure Jezebel was told  everything that happened AFTER she threatened Elijah as well.

How Elijah was now afraid for his life, and had fallen into depression and wanted to die.

It's sad, but people like Jezebel just love to sit back and observe; waiting for a chance to say something or do something that will cause you to have a negative reaction.

That's what they want...They want to get a reaction out of you. Don’t feed into the negativity. 

Notice from 1 Kings 19 how Jezebel was bold with her threat. Notice also that she didn't kill Elijah despite what she said she would do.

The point is this: Don’t let people play with your mind, Don't let people manipulate you into the thinking the wrong things; manipulate you into feeling some kinda way.

You are covered in the blood of Jesus and NO WEAPON  physically or mentally formed  will prosper, NOT against your body, and NOT against your mind. It won't prosper.

God has not given you a spirit of fear. (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJ)

So, Let them talk, let that demonic spirit talk....

You have the right to condemn every tongue that rises up against you according to Isaiah 54:17 NKJ.

Just like God kept sending an angel to strengthen Elijah, because it was not his time to  leave this earth....

God will keep sending you strength. You will make it through this attack, UNTOUCHED. To God be the glory!!

I can hear God saying, Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.

Psalm 105:15, 1 Chron 16:22

"Don't Do It"

Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.

Micah 7:8 NIV

To gloat means to delight in, to take great pleasure in....

Beloved, It's sad to say, but somebody is enjoying your fallen state, enjoying seeing you in this dark season of your life.

You're literally struggling to find your way every day and they're enjoying it. 

Obviously, they don't know the bible or else, they would know better than to gloat over you, than to gloat over your current situation because the Lord will be light for you, lighting up your path...You will get out of what you're in.

It's just temporary. You won't be in that situation FOREVER.

You will rise up out of that grief, up out of that depression. In the words of Maya Angelou,"'STILL I RISE ''  You will rise.

You will rise up, get up, and go on with your life....

Because you know what?

Their day is coming. Every wicked person who is taking delight in, taking great pleasure in what you're going through right now...Their day is coming.

Don't let them stress you out; laugh instead...

Laugh because a merry heart does the body good like medicine. Proverbs 17:22 NKJ

Laugh because God is laughing.

The bible says,

but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming.

Psalms 37:13 NIV

So, Don't stress out...

Laugh! 🤩

"Had They Known"

Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.

Luke 23:34 NKJV

Beloved,

Here's some real talk for you.

Some adults are STILL children in the way that they behave.They really don't know or understand the severity of their actions. 

Jesus understood that NOT every adult has put away their childish ways, but same STILL  speak, think, and do things on the same level as a child.

1 Corin 13:11 KJV

So, From The Cross, Jesus asked The Father to forgive those who had done Him wrong...His reason, because they did not know what they were doing when they mocked Him, spit on Him, beat Him, when they crucified Him.

Matt 27:27-30 CEV

There's a passage of scripture that actually says,

For had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

1 Corin 2:8 KJV

Had they really known and understood Jesus was The Son of God sent on assignment to save a bunch of wretches like them, they wouldn't have behaved so wrecklessly. Had they known that after 3 days of being down, "HE WOULD GET UP..."

Had they known after going through what you went through...You would get up and BE STRONGER all because of the Jesus they crucified...

They never would have put their mouth on you. 

SO, FORGIVE THEM...Do what Jesus asked.

"He Won't Leave You"

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV

He will never leave you...

God will never leave you.

You don't FULLY understand a statement like that until someone dies, until someone walks out, until you go through a divorce, until something happens that permanently disrupts your life.

Then all of a sudden, this scripture, this same scripture that you've quoted, that you have highlighted in your bible...

For many of us, this scripture hits differently now.

SOMEBODY: It's like your eyes and ears have been opened  for the first time, and now you really get it, that PEOPLE CAN LEAVE YOU, unexpectedly, in the tinkling of an eye.

But NOT God, God doesn't leave His people...NOT EVEN death can separate us from His love (Rom 8:38) Nor would He ever consider divorcing us or  just up and walking out on us...He won't leave us.

NOW, I don't know what you've experienced over the the last few months or even this last year...

But I know this, God is married to us, committed to us even when we are in a 

backslighten state of mind. (Jere 3:14 NKJ) That's all a part of Him choosing NOT to forsake us. He refuses to let what we do or don't do, change His love for us. 

So, Beloved,

You might not be at your best right now...You're going through a lot, you've lost a lot.

Just know it's impossible for you to lose God too.

He won't leave you.

"I Should Have Waited"

A man had two sons. The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons.

A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living.

Luke 15:11-13 NLT

SOMEBODY:

You feel like you packed up and left home too early. You don't regret the things you have, but you know that it ALL could have been better had you waited.

But like the Prodigal Son you were anxious to get out of your parent's house and be "grown."

There's a reason why the bible tells us to be anxious for nothing...Because when you get anxious (rushing to have, to experience this & that), you start making mistakes; mistakes that could have been avoided had you been willing to wait.

Philip 4:6 NKJ

So, Now you find yourself "preaching" to your own kids about the importance of waiting, about the important of not giving in to the flesh and living wild; wild living cost.

AND while, it might be too late to move back in with your biological parents like The Prodigal Son did.

Luke 15:11-24 NLT

You can always go back to your Heavenly Father and heal from the damage done to you in your youth, in your teen years, done to you as a young adult. Jere 30:17 NKJ talks about wounds being healed, as well as the physical body.

Father God,

Heal what the world tried to break, tried to destroy early on through wrong associations, through addictive habits, addictive behavior. Restore physically, mentally, and emotionally what the devil tried to steal.

In Jesus name, Amen
