2/22/26 "Surrender!!"

2/22/26

#5MinutesofFocus

"Surrender!!"
SOMEBODY: You despise quitting...You've already quit on so much you set out to achieve, that you absolutely refuse to quit on anything else.

Here's the problem with that though... You are confusing quitting with surrendering.
God doesn't want you to quit, but he does want you to surrender, to give it over to Him.

Right now, You are praying YOUR OWN WILL and it hurts so bad....And you might be surprised to learn that Jesus in the garden, started out praying  His own will too and it hurt so bad.

Jesus knelt down and prayed, saying, "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from  me"... Jesus was  praying His own will, praying what HE WANTED God to do.

Then, All of a sudden (I'm not sure what happened), but in His next few words, Jesus surrendered His will saying, "Yet not my will but yours be done." Then, An angel appeared and strengthened Him.
Luke 22:41-43 NIV

Now, I wish I could tell you, that after He surrendered His will, He felt better.... Physically, Jesus was still hurt, still in agony but spiritually, surrendering gave Jesus the strength He needed to go to The Cross (for us) .

Jesus surrendered and became the SAVIOUR of the WORLD. John 3:16
I wonder, who you will become after you surrender?

Surrender..God has bigger hopes & dreams for you, than you can even begin to imagine for yourself.
Ephesians 3 :20

God will give you the desires of your heart..But 1st give Him your heart.
Psalm 37:4

Life can be a TRIP made easier, with Jesus as your TOUR GUIDE. Isaiah 48:17 NIV
He knows the plans He has for you. Jere 29:11

Fess up...You're tired....Surrender.
God says, Come to ME all who are weary...Matt 11:28
It's time, you stop trying to do it ALL on your own.
Surrender!!

Until Next Sunday.

2/15/16

Sticking & Staying!!
[14] At this they wept aloud again. Then Orpah kissed her mother-in-law goodbye, but Ruth clung to her. [15] “Look,” said Naomi, “your sister-in-law is going back to her people and her gods. Go back with her.” [16] But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.
Ruth 1:14-16 NIV

Beloved,
Stop taking the pain personally upon yourself. What happened is NOT your fault.

Believe me, you haven't lost anyone that really counts, that really matters.

All of us, who have been assigned to your life...We are still here.

You see, Those assigned to you will stay, in spite of the consequences...
Because PAIN DOESN'T CHANGE a real commitment, hardship doesn't change a real commitment.

Ruth was assigned to Naomi and was committed to stay with her wherever she went to the end of her days.
Ruth 1:16-17 NIV

The same with Elisha, He was assigned to Elijah's life and committed to following him...Even though, it meant leaving his family behind.
The same with MOST of the disciples & Jesus.
Matthew 4:18-22
1 Kings 19:19-21 NIV

Whether it's a ministry assignment, a marriage  commitment, or a vow of friendship....
Commitment when it's real is NEVER easy.

Therefore, Those of us who are assigned to your life, really meant to be a part of your life...We are still here.
Sticking & Staying Close in spite of the consequences...We have made our choice.

The pain may be personal, but it's NOT permanent.

Just thought you should know.

Until  Next Sunday,

2/8/26 "And NOTHING MORE!!"

2/8/26

#5MinutesofFocus

"And NOTHING MORE"
Jesus was assigned to the woman at the well. He was there to help her get healed from her past relationships and be filled with the life-changing water of salvation and  NOTHING MORE.
John 4:1-29 NIV

Beloved, It's a dangerous thing to want something or someone for YOURSELF that God does not want for you.

But this is exactly what happens when we forget the assignment God gave us concerning that person and we get close with them in a way that we shouldn't.

And you wonder why things are not working out the way you had hoped.
It's because where you saw a possible relationship, God saw ministry, where you saw friendship, God saw mentorship.

In John 4: Jesus told the woman at the well to, “Go, call your husband and come back.” “I have no husband,” she replied. Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband.
John 4:16‭-‬17 NIV

But what if, Jesus next words to this precious woman who was in need of salvation would have been, "I have no wife in which to speak of either? "

See how easy it is to derail the plan of God and cause things to go in a total different direction all because we allowed flesh to get involved, all because feelings got involved?

Jesus would have cost this precious woman her salvation, her chance to be free of EVERYTHING she had been carrying had he allowed himself to feel more for her that just His assignment.

That's why it's so important that we choose to die daily, that by choice we crucify our flesh.
Gal 5:16-17, 24
1 Corin 15:31 NKJ

So that we can effectively minister to "that person" and have no problem keeping it about the assignment, keeping it about God and what HE SAID, and nothing more.

Galatians 5:7 CEV says,
[7] You were doing so well until someone made you turn from the truth.

Sure hope it wasn't me...Because the one thing we should NEVER want to do (as servants of Christ) is be responsible for someone stumbling, falling, missing out on what God has for them, all because of us and our fleshly desires.

Until Next Sunday.

2/1/26 "He's Preparing You!!'

2/1/26

#5MinutesofFocus

"He's Preparing You "
[1] When he had finished praying, Jesus left with his disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley. On the other side there was a garden, and he and his disciples went into it.
John 18:1 NIV

Jesus had just finished praying, but despite all His praying...He STILL ended up getting arrested by verse 12.

👉How could Jesus' prayers not work?

👉Jesus had a prayer life.

👉Jesus prayed to His Heavenly Father and it still didn't prevent Him from being arrested.

Many of you are puzzled and have similar questions about your own prayer life. Why didn't praying work?

Beloved,
God never promised you that prayer would prevent or stop EVERYTHING.
But have you ever considered...That just maybe, Instead of preventing or stopping the situation...

👉Prayer is what prepared you for the situation?

👉Prayer prepared Jesus for His arrest.
Of course, He knew he would be arrested, but still he needed to prepare mentally, prepare emotionally for the actual taking away of His freedom etc.

👉You see, It's one thing to know it and something totally different to actually go through it.

👉Therefore, You need to be prepared for what's next.

👉You need to be prepared or you won't be able to go through it, you won't be able to handle it.

Jesus needed to be in The Garden of Gethsemane, praying harder than he had in days prior.

It was the praying, crying, the breaking of His Will in The Garden of Gethsemane that prepared Jesus for His arrest, and being arrested prepared Him for The Cross.
Luke 22:39-54 NKJ

👉So, Instead of being mad that your prayers didn't prevent or stop that thing from happening...
👉In time, you will discover  what your prayer life was preparing you for all along and I hope you will look back on it and  BE GRATEFUL for the time God gave you in prayer to prepare.

SOMEBODY: He's preparing you.
“You don’t understand now what He's doing, but it will be clear enough to you later.”
John 13:7 MSG

Remember, He causes all things to work together for the good...(Rom 8:28 NLT) Even the hard things, the things you never thought would happen to you etc.

Until Next Sunday.
