10/6/24 "Carriers"

10/6/24

5 Minutes of Focus

"Carriers"
[3] Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. [4] Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on.
Mark 2:3-4 NIV

Beloved,
You never know whose help you will need BEFORE you leave this earth....

The circumstances surrounding one situation in your life could change suddenly, forcing you to need help just like that paralyzed man needed help.

He needed the help of those 4 men. There is no way He could have made it to Jesus, to the place where he would be forgiven of his sins and healed without help from those 4 able- bodied men.

That's why Beloved, It's important that you treat EVERYBODY right even when they don't treat you right, because truly you don't know whose help you will need.

It's also important that you pick some friends you know you can rely on in a crisis.

THESE ARE NOT THE FRIENDS YOU LAUGH AND JOKE WITH, HANG OUT WITH. The friends who you find yourself encouraging, upholding, and willingly participating in each other's bad habits, each other's sins etc.

No, These are the friends that right now, you might not even acknowledge them as your friends, but they can get a prayer through.

●They can get a prayer through.

●They can carry you to Jesus.

●They know how to move in faith and not doubt.

The four men who carried that paralyzed man to Jesus knew how to move in faith and not doubt.

Even when it looked like they wouldn't be able to get him in to see Jesus...THEY DID NOT LET THE CROWD make them doubt what was possible.

Instead they dug into their faith (inwardly), and starting digging in the natural UNTIL the roof came off.
These are the kind of friends you need.

●Friends that will dig for you, take action for you.

●They won't doubt or cause you to doubt.

●They won't become intimidated by the crowd and drop you before finishing what they started.

Beloved, Where are your carriers?

Who are your carriers?
Thank God for them.

Until Next Sunday.

9/29/24 "Standing In The Gap"

9/29/24

5 Minutes of Focus

"Standing In The Gap"
[1] A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. [2] They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. [3] Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. [4] Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. [5] When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
Mark 2:3-5 NLT

Beloved,
What if seeing your faith was enough to get God to move on behalf of that other person?

Would you take your faith more seriously then?

Jude 1:20 (NKJV) talks about building yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.

Would you do whatever it takes to keep your faith built up including praying in the Holy Spirit, if you knew God was looking, HE WAS PAYING ATTENTION  to your faith and what you did would determine that other person's outcome?

That's exactly what happened in Mark 2:5: Jesus saw the faith of the men who brought the paralyzed man to Him. He saw everything they went through and everything they did to get the man in to see Him.

So, Jesus forgave the man of his sins and healed his body based on the faith He saw in the four men. He didn't even bother to ask the paralyzed man if he had faith or not, it didn't matter.

He was paralyzed and he got healed off of their faith. That's all that mattered...Who is your faith standing in the gap for?

God wants to use your faith to do something that has never been seen before...NOT in your life, but in the life of that other person that has a need.

[12] He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
Mark 2:12 NIV

9/22/24 "Grieve & Live"

9/22/24

5 Minutes of Focus

" Grieve & Live"
[18]  And on the seventh day the child died. David's servants feared to tell him that the child was dead, for they said, While the child was yet alive, we spoke to him and he would not listen to our voices; will he then harm himself if we tell him the child is dead?

[19]  But when David saw that his servants whispered, he perceived that the child was dead. So he said to them, Is the child dead? And they said, He is. [20]  Then David arose from the floor, washed, anointed himself, changed his apparel, and went into the house of the Lord and worshiped...
2 Samuel 12:18-20 AMPC

SOMEBODY: Hear Me!!
Your loved one would want you to live...
Being without them is hard,
I get it.
But the fact that God has given you with a brand new day, a day you have never seen before, should be enough to motivate you to get up and keep going.

What looks like the end to you right now is really just the beginning. Life has more to offer you, but you will be in no position mentally to receive it, if you keep holding onto what you can't change or undo.

David realized there was nothing more he could do for his son and so he got up. Despite those who were whispering around him, thinking that if he got "wind" of what they were talking about he might harm himself.

David got up. He was on the floor, but he got up.
That's a Word 4 SOMEBODY:
God has given you the strength to get yourself up. (Philip 4:13)...You don't have to stay down physically or mentally.

You can grieve and live.

Honor that loved one's memory, but live your life.
Start by taking care of your personal hygiene and change your clothes. Look your best, even though you don't feel your best.

Let your appearance prophesy to those who were whispering about you....Let them see you are not down permanently.

Get up and go worship Jesus (your God, your Lord & Savior). This is (STILL) a day the Lord has made...
Psalms 118:24

So, Don't stay there grieving like you have no hope. There is hope.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

Until Next Sunday.

I'm praying for you.

9/15/24 "Mary Or Martha?"

9/15/24

5 Minutes Of Focus

"Mary Or Martha?"
[38] As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. [39] She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. [40] But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
Luke 10:38-40 NIV

For those that work outside of your home:

What's the 1st first thing you do when you get in?

Do you take a moment to reflect on the day you had and acknowledge that it was God who kept you?

He kept you from that accident that could have happened?

He kept you from getting into an argument with one of your co-workers, kept you doing something you would regret, He kept you.

All day long His Holy Spirit has been your comforter-The reason you didn't get upset, your counselor-talking you through, keeping you company on your lunch break, so that you didn't break.

He's been everything John 14:26 in the AMPC promises He would be.
So, How do you repay His goodness?

Mary came in from the day she had experienced and the bible says, She sat at Jesus feet, listening to what He had to say. She chose to recharge her spirit with His wisdom BEFORE diving into whatever else needed to be done for the day.

But not Martha, Martha was there, complaining to Jesus about all the things that still needed to be done and how she had no help.

She talked to Jesus, but her words were not words of thanksgiving, words of praise and adoration. She didn't give Him the attention He deserved, but yet she expected Him to pay attention to what she needed and DO SOMETHING about it!!

Why are we like that?
In a world that tempts us daily to be more & more like Martha. I pray we choose Mary, choose Jesus, choose to reverence Him, to honor His Holy Spirit 1st.

Beloved,
Put Him 1st and the other things you need will be added according to Matthew 6:33.
Take a moment to sit at His feet -the instructions you need are at His feet. Deut 33:3 NIV

Until Next Sunday.

9/8/24 "Go Get The Jars!!"

9/8/24

5 Minutes of Focus

"Go Get The Jars!!"
2 Kings 4:1-3 NIV

[1] The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.” [2] Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.” [3] Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few.

Often we miss God's instructions for the situation we're in because we're expecting Him to tell us something deep, tell us something profound.

But what if God's instructions for the situation you're currently in included something as simple as you going over to all your neighbors houses and asking them for any empty jars they may have in their possession?

Would you go?

Would you obey the man or wo-man of God sent to tell you to go right there in your neighborhood and collect as many empty jars as possible?

Beloved,
You don't have time to hesitate. What if the woman, the mother in 2 Kings 4 had hesitated and not went right away to her neighbors houses?

What if she had hesitated when Elisha told her to go and borrow empty jars from her neighbors?

What if she had took the time to think about who her neighbors were and how she don't like that one particular neighbor?

And how she really don't associate with one of the other neighbors?

Her sons would have been taken away from her had she hesitated and been all in her feelings.

Hear Me,

● Stop hesitating.

● You know what you have to do.

● Keep your feelings out of it and do what God is saying. You have too much to lose otherwise.

Go Get The Jars!! 🤔

Selah- Pause & Reflect on this message. God is waiting on you to move in obedience to what He is saying.

Until Next Sunday.

9/1/24 "The Adjectives "

9/1/24

5 Minutes of Focus

"The Adjectives "
Have you ever found yourself using the adjectives: annoyed, annoying, irratated or irratating to describe an encounter you keep having with that certain person?

What If I told you that some people come around you, hang around just to annoy you? BELOVED, That Spirit is not new, but it is deliberate!!

In The New Testament:
Acts 16:17-18 NIV
The bible talks about a female slave who deliberately followed Paul and those who were with him.

Verse [18] The bible says,
She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her.

It's  a Spirit...You are not crazy and you are not wrong for feeling the way that you feel..THAT PERSON NEEDS TO BE DELIVERED!!

In The Old Testament, Peninnah had one goal, year after year...To irritate Hannah.

1 Samuel 1:6-7 NIV
Verse [6] Because the Lord had closed Hannah’s womb, her rival (Peninnah) kept provoking her in order to irritate her. [7] This went on year after year.

That person is deliberately provoking you to irritate you. Now that you have 1 Samuel 1:6-7 & Acts 16:16-18 as biblical proof of what you're dealing with...

It's time to go to war (in the Spirit), calling out every Spirit you see present in them:

Acts 16:16-18- Following You!!
Stalking Spirit.
Saying the right words, but not of God!!
Unclean Spirit.
Attached To You!!
Leeching Spirit- A Snake.
A snake was attached to the Apostle Paul, he had to shake it off or it would have been deadly. Acts 28:3-5

1 Samuel 1:6-7
Year After Year...
Time Stealing Spirit!!
Peninnah deliberately planned out her attack on Hannah, on her emotions, on her mental state, causing her to waste time she could never get back, and possibly suffer a major setback.

War, Fight Back, You're Not Crazy!!

Until Next Sunday.

8/25/24 "Worry & Me"

8/25/24

5 Minutes of Focus

"Worry & Me"
[6] Don't worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God.
Philip 4:6 CEV

Stop worrying. Worry is not a good look on you.
The longer you give in to worry, the more you look ungrateful in the eyes of man for the things God has already done in your life.

Beloved,
It's important that you stay in faith and not let anxiety get the best of you. You never know whose watching you.

Don't loose your witness for Christ in a moment of weakness. If He truly is "good all the time"...Then look like He is and stop worrying.

In the bible, God had blessed Job abundantly. He had a family, houses, land, and cattle. LIFE WAS GOOD!!

But when it came to his children, Job worried....
He worried about what THEY MIGHT be doing that he knew not of. So, Just in case, they were sinning- doing something God would not approve of; Job gave an offering for each of them.
Job 1:5 CEV

At 1st glance, you might think, Job was acting in faith on behalf of his childen...

But how is it faith, when you are thinking negative thoughts about your children, about what they might or might not even be doing?

And like Job, you're worried and  trying to say you're doing what you're doing, "just in case", but really you're doing it just because...
Just because you're worried and you don't like not knowing. You don't like feeling powerless; having to rely solely on faith and not your own sight or capability.

Faith has you blind in this season and you're worried.
BUT YET...We walk by faith and not sight.
2 Corin 5:7 KJV

Selah.

Until Next Sunday.
