7/6/25 "BOTH"

7/6/25

"BOTH"
[17] Jesus arrived in Bethany. There he learned that Lazarus had already been dead and in the tomb for four days. [18] Bethany was about two miles from Jerusalem. [19] Many Jews had come there to comfort Martha and Mary about their brother. [20] Martha heard that Jesus was coming, and she went out to meet him. But Mary stayed at home.
John 11:17-20 lCB

Many Jews had come to comfort Martha AND Mary....  Because they were BOTH hurting, they were BOTH grieving in their own way.

In the midst of losing their brother,  Martha had the strength to go out and meet with Jesus, while Mary just wanted to stay home.

Whose to say that either choice was wrong?

Martha met with Jesus, but Mary stayed home....

There will be times when you don't have the strength to meet with Jesus, when you don't have the strength to pray. Your spirit is willing, but your body (flesh) is weak.
Matt 26:41

That's why the bible tells us to PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER....There will be times when you need somebody interceding for you, when you need somebody praying for you.

There will be times when you are so hurt, so grieved that the only way you will experience  some form of healing is through somebody else's prayer.

Confess and acknowledge how you have offended one another and then pray for one another to be instantly healed, for tremendous power is released through the passionate, heartfelt prayer of a godly believer!
James 5:16 TPT

God designed us to need EACH OTHER because at any given time, I could be Martha and you could be Mary or we BOTH could be going through something at the same time.

Therefore, Who are we to judge "the way" any of us are handling this life? Let's just confess, acknowledge how we have offended one another (COME CLEAN) and pray.

Let's just pray for each other.

Until Next Sunday.

6/28/25 "Don't Judge A Book"

6/28/25

#5MinutesofFocus

"Don't Judge A Book"
[27] Just then his disciples came back (from the store - according to John 4:7-8 MSG). They were shocked. They couldn’t believe he was talking with that kind of a woman. No one said what they were all thinking, but their faces showed it.
John 4:27 MSG

In the text, The disciples had formed an opinion about the woman Jesus was talking to based solely on the fact that she was a Samaritan.

They didn't know anything else about her, they hadn't bothered to talk to her.

Jesus was the only one talking to her. He was willing to give a her chance even though it went against the social and religious norms of that time.

Never let society, social media or anything else decide who you can and cannot communicate with.

Forming a negative opinion  about SOMEBODY IN YOUR HEAD and letting it show on your face is not of God. That's why Jesus had sent the disciples to the store, He knew how they would respond.

Put yourself in that person's position and try not to judge, because we all need Jesus in one way or another when the wells of life run dry.

She didn't have anybody else she could talk to who was really hers, who was really there for her. The man she was living with certainly wasn't and Jesus called her out on it in John 4:16-18 NIV

She had lost pieces of herself being in one failed  relationship after another, after another. So, She needed Jesus more than the physical water she thought she was there to receive, initially.

Jesus who had left Judea, went back to Galilee and came through Samaria to a town called Sychar just to be there for her.
John 4:3-4 NIV

She needed Him, more than she needed her next drink (of water), more than she needed to be in a relationship (at that time). She needed the living water, getting to know Him & receiving Him as The Messiah her soul has been longing for could provide.

Can you relate?

If so, Don't judge a book by its cover because we all are uniquely flawed.

Enough with the looks the disciples were giving her.

Study John 4 for yourself!!

6/22/25 "Wounds"

6/22/25

#5MinutesofFocus

"Wounds"
[17] But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the Lord, ‘because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one cares.’
Jeremiah 30:17 NIV

Beloved,
God is not the one that hurt you. He's not the one that wounded you. He is the one that was wounded for you.

[4] Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. [5] But he was wounded for our transgressions...
Isaiah 53:4-5 KJV

So, You can open up to Him. You can let your guard down, there's no need to lie or try to save face.

The same way, Jesus showed a doubting Thomas His wounds in John 20. It's time for so many of you to do the same.... Show Jesus where you have been hurt and reveal who it is that hurt you.

Reveal it and release it....
It's time to let all that go or what He went through on THE CROSS would all just be in vain.

He didn't die with your sins on His body and resurrect after 3 days just for you to keep hurting.

Some of you are keeping the hurt alive on purpose, because the pain is so familiar, you don't know who you'd be without it.

TIME OUT FOR PLAYING the victim. Jesus is standing at the door (of your heart) Rev 3:20 and He's knocking...Let Him in, because a lot of what you're struggling to deal with is inner hurt, pain on the inside, wounds.

Wounds be healed!!

Stop seeing yourself as an outcast. You are Zion - prophetically you represent hope & restoration, and you are loved.

Until Next Sunday.

6/14/25 "Hey Dad!!"

6/14/25

#5MinutesofFocus

"Hey Dad!!"
[21] Mary will give birth to a son, and you (Joseph) are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” [22] All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: [23] “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). [24] When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. [25] But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.
Matt 1:21-25 NIV

Hey Dad,
God assigned you to that child, one by one individually. God assigned you to those children and I know He is proud of the way you have stepped up throughout the years and really taken YOUR ASSIGNMENT seriously.

Being a dad is NOT your role nor has it been your role because a role is something you can PLAY until you get tired and decide to switch up.

Thank you for NOT switching up, for NOT PLAYING about those that God has assigned to you.

But like Joseph, You named them, you claimed them, you covered them and are still covering them to this day. The world wouldn't know their name apart from you, Dad, without you, Dad, because you named them, you gave them their identified- the way they were to be identified throughout this life.

Just like Joseph did for Jesus....Before people ever knew Jesus was the Son of God, they knew him 1st as Jesus, the carpenter's son. You did the same.
Matt 13:55 NIV

You understood your assignment concerning them and you delivered!! They are so blessed to have you.

Happy Father's Day, Dad!!

6/8/25 "Imagine"

6/8/25

#5MinutesofFocus

"Imagine"
[27] When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” [28] And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.”
[29] Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith be it unto you."
Matthew 9:27-28 NKJV, Verse 29 KJV

If Jesus touched your eyes....
Imagine the things you could see, things that you wouldn't have had the privilege to see otherwise.

Imagine how one touch from His hand could change your perspective on EVERYTHING!!

One touch and two blind men eyes were opened FOREVER to the world around them.

But BEFORE He touched them He needed to know if they believed He was able to do it.

👉Start telling God how much you believe in Him.

👉Start telling God you know that He is able to do it ,even if you're sitting in the dark (with no electricity) and your bank account is in the negative.

👉Start telling Him NOW when you can't see your way...Because faith isn’t faith when you can see your way to getting everything you want.

Just the opposite, Faith is faith when you are truly walking by faith, living by faith and not by sight.
2 Corin 5:7 KJV & NIV

So I say this to SOMEBODY  because you need to hear it:
Stop relying so much on what you can see...You are blind in so many ways and you don't even know it.

At least the two men in the text knew they were blind and STILL Jesus touch their eyes and left them with these words,
"According to YOUR FAITH be it unto you" -meaning whatever happens is going to happen because of your faith...It's about your faith, nothing else.

Until Next Sunday.

6/1/25 "That Jordan "

6/1/25

#5MinutesofFocus

"That Jordan"
[10] Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, “Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed.” [11] But Naaman went away angry and said, “I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy. [14] So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored....
2 Kings 5:10-11, 14 NIV

I'm sure, you know by now, that nothing in life is automatic and nothing ever really comes easy.

THERE'S ALWAYS A PRICE, even if you are not the one who paid the price.

So, Let your anger subside and get on up and do what you have to do. I know you think like Naaman that things should have went a certain way....Well it didn't. Things didn't go the way you expected, but that doesn't mean YOU HAVE TO STOP GOING.

DON'T STOP GOING....

Don't quit on yourself. Put your personal feelings aside and show up at "That Jordan", at that place God has assigned you to show up in order to make change happen in your own life.

Be the change you want to see, show up, and do the very thing  you really don't want to do....

Do it for you...

To change you.

To heal you.

To be obedient to what God is saying to you and for you in this season.

"That Jordan" in Naaman's life was a nasty river that he definitely wasn't prepared to dip himself in....

And some of you, you're not prepared to dive into that certain area of your life, you're not prepared to do a deep dive into that issue you're having, neither was Naaman, but he had to in order to get healed of leprosy.

Beloved,
You have to do it in order to get healed, in order to see things change.

Until Next Sunday.

5/25/25 "Warning Sent "

5/25/25

#5MinutesofFocus

"Warning Sent"
[19] While Pilate was sitting on the judge’s seat, his wife sent him this message: “Don’t have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him.
Matthew 27:19 NIV

Pilate's wife had a dream and in the dream it was revealed to her that Jesus was innocent.

Her husband was involved in judging Jesus...So, God sent a dream to her as a warning.

In the dream, she saw herself suffering and so she sent a message to her husband saying, "Don't have anything thing to do with that innocent man."

Just as He did for Jesus...God knows how to get the attention of those judging you.

It's not that you're a bad person....YOU'RE INNOCENT and because you're innocent, the warning has been sent and they know, if they have anything to do with you, there will be consequences.

You see, Beloved, God is fighting for you. You don't have to defend yourself.
The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest.
 Exodus 14:14 AMPC

I Decree & Declare:
YOU SHALL HOLD YOUR PEACE. YOU SHALL REAMAIN AT REST....
But if they still insist on judging you in spite of your innocence...They will suffer.

There will be no peace & no rest for anybody who gets involved with judging those God has marked, "Innocent."

Pilate didn't listen to his wife and had to learn the hard way.

And so, Pilate's fate after presiding over Jesus' trial is somewhat uncertain, as historical accounts vary.

Here are some possibilities:
Removal from office: Pilate was reportedly dismissed as governor of Judea around 36 CE after complaints from the Samaritans about his harsh rule.

Ordered back to Rome: He was sent to Rome to stand trial for cruelty and oppression.

Possible suicide: According to the historian Eusebius, Pilate may have taken his own life on orders from Emperor Caligula.
His exact fate remains unclear. 😢 🤔

Warning Sent...

Until Next Sunday.
